Why Integration Depth Matters

Every AI interviewer vendor claims Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday integration. What they don't tell you is that "integration" can mean anything from a fully automated bidirectional data flow to a manually triggered Zapier webhook that breaks every time your ATS releases an update.

Native (what you want)

Bidirectional data flow. When a candidate completes the AI interview, their score auto-populates your ATS scorecard. Status updates in the ATS trigger actions in the AI interviewer (reject auto-sends candidate notification). The AI interviewer UI is accessible from within your ATS job view. No manual steps, no CSV uploads, no engineering time to maintain.

API (usable but requires your engineering team)

The vendor provides an API; your TechOps builds the integration. Custom engineering investment typically 20-80 hours upfront plus ongoing maintenance. Functionality is exactly what you build, no more. This is a reasonable option for in-house engineering teams but should be costed honestly: at $150-$200/hr loaded cost, 80 hours = $12,000-$16,000 in integration cost before ongoing maintenance.

Zapier (avoid for production use)

Zapier-based integrations are prone to breakage when either the ATS or the AI interviewer platform releases an update. There is no vendor support SLA for Zapier connections; when it breaks, your team debugs it. For a compliance-sensitive workflow where every interview completion must log to your ATS, this is a material operational risk. Acceptable for trial or low-volume use; not acceptable for production deployment.

None (dealbreaker for most buyers)

No integration means manual CSV export and import. For any volume above 50 hires per year, this is operationally unsustainable. If the platform you are evaluating has no integration with your ATS, do not proceed to a vendor contract without a native integration on the roadmap with a committed delivery date.

Per-ATS Notes

Greenhouse

Greenhouse has the broadest AI interviewer partner ecosystem. 40+ AI interviewer vendors have native integration listed in the Greenhouse partner directory. Verify the specific integration you need in the Greenhouse Harvest API partner list before the vendor demo. Greenhouse provides clear documentation of what each partner integration supports: one-way candidate push, bidirectional scorecard sync, status webhooks, embedded video playback.

Lever

Lever's partner program lists 20+ AI interviewer vendors with native integration. Lever's open API is developer-friendly; API-level integrations are more mature than on some other platforms. Verify current integration status for your shortlisted vendors at the Lever partner directory. Lever's NPS candidate feed supports structured interview data ingestion.

Workday Recruiting

Workday is the enterprise ATS most commonly required by Fortune 500 buyers. HireVue, Modern Hire (legacy), Paradox, Sapia, and Talview all have established native Workday integrations. Workday's integration partner requirements are more demanding than Greenhouse or Lever, which is why some mid-market AI interviewer vendors are API-only rather than native with Workday.

SmartRecruiters

SmartRecruiters runs a marketplace-first partner model with broad AI interviewer coverage. Most major platforms have native SmartRecruiters integration. SmartRecruiters' Marketplace is the verification source for current integration depth.

iCIMS

iCIMS UNIFi Marketplace lists AI interviewer partners. HireVue, Paradox, Talview, Modern Hire, and Spark Hire all have established iCIMS integration. Verify current depth in the UNIFi marketplace.

Oracle HCM (Cloud Recruiting)

Oracle HCM is the most demanding enterprise ATS for integration certification. HireVue, Paradox, Modern Hire (legacy), and Talview have established Oracle HCM native integrations. Others are typically API-only. If Oracle HCM is your ATS and native integration is a procurement requirement, your shortlist is effectively limited to these four.

SAP SuccessFactors

Similar to Oracle HCM, SAP certification requirements limit native integrations to a smaller group. HireVue and Modern Hire (legacy) are the most established. Others are API-only; factor custom integration cost into your evaluation.

BambooHR

BambooHR serves the SMB segment. myInterview, Spark Hire, and Willo all have native BambooHR integration, making them natural choices for SMB buyers on BambooHR. Enterprise AI interviewer platforms (HireVue, Sapia, Paradox) do not typically integrate with BambooHR, which reflects the SMB/enterprise market segmentation.

Interview Scheduling Automation

Scheduling automation is often a separate system from the AI interviewer itself. Paradox Olivia includes scheduling as part of the conversational flow. For knowledge-worker hiring, scheduling tools like GoodTime, GEM, and Cronofy integrate with your ATS and interview team's calendars independently of the AI interview platform. Confirm whether your AI interviewer vendor includes scheduling or expects you to procure it separately.
